The first investigation of the year is usually with the Science Faculty investigating Scotland’s contribution to scientific discovery,  including pupils suggesting that television was first invented by John Logie Bear. 😀

Grumpy scientists and grizzly bears: spot the difference!

When we ask pupils to look at our image of Alexander Fleming, they often comment that he looks a bit grumpy, but now maybe we’ve got a genuine grizzly!

And just for a finishing human touch, we discovered that the mum of one of our pupils used to be hairdresser to John Logie Baird’s wife! Not only is that pretty cool, it’s a great story for explaining different types of evidence to classes.
